Dear Parent(s) / Guardian(s),
I hope this message finds you well! My name is Josanne Edgar, and I am the Parent Coordinator at P.S.251. I am reaching out to introduce myself and let you know that I am here as a resource for you and your child.
My role is to help create a strong, positive partnership between parents and the school staff. Whether you need information, resources, or support with navigating school-related matters, I am here to assist in any way I can. My goal is to ensure that your child has the best possible experience and that you feel heard and supported throughout their educational journey.
If you have any concerns or if there's anything you'd like to discuss, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am here to listen, advocate on your behalf, and work with you to address any needs or questions that may arise. Whether it’s helping you connect with the right school staff or providing additional resources, I am committed to working with you as a team to ensure your child’s success.

Springtime Eggstravaganza
Dear PS 251 Families,
Spring is almost here, and we are excited to celebrate together with our upcoming PS 251 Springtime Extravaganza on Friday, April 17th!
This school-wide celebration will include a fun Math Egg Hunt, where students will search for eggs, solve grade-level math challenges, and work together to find the special Golden Egg for a surprise prize.
Our goal is for every student to participate and leave with a treat, and we would love the support of our school community to help make this event extra special.
We are kindly asking families who are able to donate one of the following nut-free items:
Suggested Donations
- Individually wrapped nut-free candy (chocolate is welcome)
- Chips (individual snack-size bags)
- Popcorn (individually packaged)
- Small toys or novelty prizes
Please ensure that all donated food items are nut-free and individually wrapped for student safety.
If you are able to contribute, please send donations with your child by Monday, April 13th so we have enough time to prepare.
Donations can be given to your child’s teacher or dropped off at the Main Office.

Spring Recess
Dear P.S. 251 Families,
There will be no school due to Spring Recess from Thursday, April 2 through Friday, April 10. School will reopen on Monday, April 13.

Reminder: Summer Rising Application Deadline is Tomorrow March 27th 2026
Hello P.S. 251 Families,
This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow Friday March 27th is the deadline to apply for Summer Rising.
Summer Rising is New York City’s free summer program for students in grades K–8. It offers a mix of academic instruction in the morning and enrichment activities such as arts, recreation, and hands-on projects in the afternoon.
Families can complete the application through the MySchools portal website. We encourage all interested families to apply before the deadline to secure a spot.
